this page to answer our most frequently asked questions.
How do i get the 'click-through'
statistcs ?
Can we choose the 'From' address for the mailings
?
If using our email address
as the 'From' address, where will any bounced messages
go?
Will the 'To' address on
an email be the actual email address the message
is being sent to, or a generic group address shared
by all the messages ?
How long does it take to
set up an account?
We have an approved list
of email addresses which we would like to use as
the basis for the master list on your system. However
our list only has one field - email address - and
does not have the first or surname information.
I notice that your system asks for all three fields
in a CSV file. How can we use our client's list
with your system when we only have a list of email
addresses ?
How do we change
the colour of the text for the 'unsubscribe' link
that appears automatically at the bottom of the
email? We have an HTML template that has a dark
background, so black text will not show up.
How does your system
monitor 'click-throughs'? How does it
know what a user clicked on the email?
I'd like to know if there
is a facility whereby I can give you our main mailing
list (as an Excel/CSV file) and a separate list
of bounced/unsubscribe addresses that I had in a
previous system, and you can remove the 'bad' addresses
from the main list.
How
do i get the 'click-through' statistcs ?
To get the 'click-through' statistcs you will need
to select the reporting option when you order. Statistics
are graphical (bar or line graph) and
include the following..
Can
we choose the 'From' address for the mailings ?
You can use any email address you want for this,
its all within the control panel.
If
using our email address as the 'From' address, where
will any
bounced messages go?
If the email recipients mail server is setup correctly
then the email will be sent back to our system which
stores the bounce into our database. However an
incorrectly setup SMTP mail server sends to the
From: address instead of the Received From Path:
address (the Received From address is a host name).
For this reason you can end up with some 'bounces'
returned to your 'From' address, for clean lists
these should be manually removed from your list.
This is a very rare occurence.
Will
the 'To' address on an email be the actual email
address the message is being sent to, or a generic
group address shared by all the messages ?
The 'To' address will be the actual email address
of the recipient.
How
long does it take to set up an account?
It takes a few minutes, basically
as long as it takes to fill in an application form
online.

our client's list with your system when we only

A couple of our clients also only have email adresses,
so all your CSV file need have is three columns
i.e. "Email Address", "Forename",
"Surname" with empty Forename and Surname
fields.
How
do we change the colour of the text for the 'unsubscribe'
link that appears automatically at the bottom of

To have the unsubscribe text show when you have
a darker background, simply insert an open Font
tag (without the closing tag) just before the </BODY>
tag i.e.
<font color="#FFFFFF">
</body>
In this example the 'unsubscribe' text would be
white.
How
does your system monitor 'click-throughs' ?
How does it know what a user clicked on the email ?
It knows this by reading all the
Hyperlinks <a href> within your email (at
the point of sending out a message) and assigns
each one (if different) a 'Link ID', and then changes
the link to first run through our statistics tracking
mechanism. You can then view the graphical statistics
, which will have a legend of 'Link ID 1 = http://www.somewebsite.com/somelink.html
' and so on for however many links you have within
the message. This only applys if you have asked
to have statistics turned on.

This is something that we can do for you and we
would charge a nominal cost for the service.
